Oatmeal and Low-Carb Diets
If you are following a very low-carb diet, with no more than 20 grams of net carbs a day, it is best for you to avoid oatmeal and get your limited amount of carbohydrates from nutrient-dense non-starchy vegetables such as broccoli and leafy greens instead. If your low-carb diet plan is more flexible and allows you to consume between 80 and 100 grams of carbohydrates, you may be able to include a daily serving of oatmeal. Track your daily net carb intake to ensure that you stay within your allocated carbohydrate budget to meet your weight and blood sugar objectives on your low-carb diet.
